What Is AIM+ Anti-Jamming?
AIM+ (Advanced Interference Mitigation) is Septentrio’s proprietary anti-jamming and anti-spoofing technology suite. It combines hardware-level RF filtering, adaptive digital signal processing, and intelligent threat detection to protect GNSS receivers from a wide range of interference sources.
How AIM+ Protects Against Different Threats
Narrowband Jamming
Adaptive notch filters automatically detect and suppress narrowband interference signals. These filters track changing interference frequencies in real-time, removing the jammer while leaving GNSS signals unharmed.
Wideband Jamming
For broadband interference, AIM+ uses advanced digital filtering techniques that shape the receiver’s frequency response to minimize noise while preserving signal integrity. This is effective against intentional jammers and accidental interference from nearby transmitters.
Spoofing Attacks
AIM+ detects spoofing through multi-frequency consistency checks, signal quality monitoring, and anomalous signal identification. When spoofing is detected, the receiver alerts the flight controller and can switch to inertial backup.
AIM+ Performance Levels
- AIM+ Basic: Detection and manual suppression of known interference types
- AIM+ Advanced: Automatic detection and adaptive filtering for all interference types
- AIM+ Premium: Full hardware-accelerated filtering with chirp jamming protection
Why AIM+ Matters for UAVs
Drones operating in urban areas face interference from 5G base stations, Wi-Fi networks, and illegal jammers. AIM+ ensures continuous RTK positioning even in these challenging RF environments, preventing mission failures and ensuring safe autonomous flight.

Frequently Asked Questions
What accuracy can I expect from this GNSS solution?
Septentrio GNSS receivers deliver 0.6 cm + 0.5 ppm horizontal and 1.0 cm + 1 ppm vertical accuracy with RTK. The exact performance depends on satellite geometry, atmospheric conditions, and correction data quality.
Does this work with ArduPilot or PX4 flight controllers?
Yes. Septentrio receivers output SBF protocol which is natively supported by both ArduPilot (GPS_TYPE=9) and PX4 (GPS_TYPE=9). Simply connect the UART interface and configure the GPS parameter for plug-and-play operation.
Can I use this receiver without an RTK base station?
Yes. You can use NTRIP corrections via a cellular connection, or use Galileo HAS (free satellite-delivered corrections on supported modules). For post-processing, the receiver logs raw data for PPK processing.
